7th Annual Morro Bay Kite Festival - April 27, 2013. April 27 & April 28. 11.00 to 5.00 on Saturday, 11.00 to 4.00 on Sunday. www.morrobaykitefestival.org/ says “The Morro Bay Kite Festival is an annual community event focused on family and the art of kite flying in Morro Bay, CA. Our goal is to bring all individuals, families, and all generations together in a safe, relaxing and fun environment, to learn and participate in the art of kite flying, Morro Bay style. Our breathtaking surroundings and windy location is perfect for this type of gathering on the central coast. Our hope when attending this high flying event, is that kids of all ages will not be distracted by technology for a moment and able to enjoy kite flying festivities, nature, the ocean. Perhaps, even Grandma and Grandpa can take a turn to fly a kite and enjoy some good old fashioned fun over the weekend...”
Miracle Miles for Kids 10K, April 27, 2013. The Family Care Network’s annual Miracle Miles for Kids Walk/Run will take place on April 27th, 2013. The 10k race course runs along the water’s edge from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier. When participants cross the finish line they will be treated to a post-race party with live music, lunch, and a diverse vendor fair, children’s activities and an awards ceremony. All donations will go towards FCNI’s mission to benefit foster and high-needs children and families on the Central Coast. Race starts at 8:30am and the vendor fair at 9am. www.mm4k.com Says “The Family Care Network’s 10th annual Miracle Miles for Kids Walk/Run will take place on April 27th, 2013. The 10k (6.2 miles) race course runs along the water’s edge from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier, one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in California.“
