Eid is still not here in Pakistan. It's the 29th fast here and strong speculations are it's going to be 30-fasts Ramadhan this year. Well, Inshah Allah =D

Since I got hold of my camera, I always wanted to take snaps of Bangle stalls during pre-eid days. Finally, got the chance =) Few quick ones ... but Alhamdolillah they all come nice. Will try to add one or two later tonight.

And here I was thinking, what is your best bangle moment? (if you are a girl, obviously)

I love it, toally love it, when for Eid namaaz the Takbira'at are said. Its so much fun raising your hands full of bangles =)

Have a blessed ending of Ramadhan and if you are already celebrating Eid, many many Eid Mubaraks.

Allah bless us!

(Fairy Meadows, Pakistan) -- Mursalin, our high-altitude porter listens intently as our liaison officer Ali tells a tall tale. His face shines from zink creme to protect from the sun, proving that even growing up at 3000 m does not make you invulnerable from the strong UV rays there (Mursalin is 32 years old).

We had engaged Mursalin in case the weather was good enough for a peak trek (you need HAPs above ~3500m), unfortunately a light snowfall the day before forced us to frolick in the sun instead. His tales from mountaineering life was worth the cost in any case: he has been stranded in a snow storm at 7000m on Broad Peak, and has spent many a high time together with the legend Reinhold Messner.

Newstead Abbey Visit – April 2012

A visit to the majestic Nottinghamshire estate of Newstead Abbey, the birth place of the poet Lord Byron, facilitated by NTU International Office’s South Asia and Africa team. Students from these regions were invited to attend and those who could make it were captivated by a guided tour of the house, which also presented some dressing up opportunities in old-fashioned outfits. There was also a traditional English cream tea, which refuelled everyone before the afternoon walk around the beautiful gardens and lake.
